If you want something you'll use most days with no setup, start with compression boots. If you train hard a few times a week and like the cold, start with an ice bath. The comparison above sets out how each one fits into a training week.
Yes. Plenty of athletes do a short cold plunge after a hard session and use compression boots later in the evening. Start with one, see how your body responds, then add the other.
Most people start somewhere around 10 to 15°C for a couple of minutes and build up from there. Start warmer and shorter than you think you need. If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure or any other medical condition, check with your GP before cold water immersion.
Most sessions run 20 to 30 minutes. You sit or lie down, choose a pressure, and the six chambers inflate in sequence from the foot upwards.
Sizes go by inseam: Short up to 74cm, Regular 75 to 84cm, Tall 85 to 94cm, Extra Tall 95cm and above. Regular fits most people. If you're between two sizes, go for the longer one.
Anywhere flat that takes a 90cm footprint and the weight of the water: a patio, garage, garden or a ground-floor room. It packs down into its carry bag when you're not using it.
Order by 2pm on a working day and we dispatch the next working day. UK delivery is free and takes 3 to 5 working days.
MyVYRO makes recovery kit for people who train properly and want to back it up at home. The range is deliberately small: Pulse PRO compression boots and the Plunge PRO portable ice bath. Two tools that do one job each, and do it well.
Pulse PRO is a six-chamber air compression system for the legs and hips, with four leg lengths so the boots fit the athlete rather than the other way round. Plunge PRO is a drop-stitch ice bath tub with 8cm walls and an 8cm rigid lid, the same construction used in paddleboards, so it stays upright and holds its shape when it's full.
Both ship free across the UK, with next working day dispatch on orders placed by 2pm.
