Fit Guide, UK

Get the size right, or the pressure is wasted.

The short answer: compression boots are sized by standing height, not shoe size or weight, because height is the best proxy for leg length. The Pulse PRO comes in four sizes: Short (5ft to 5ft 7), Regular (5ft 8 to 6ft, the standard fit), Tall (6ft 1 to 6ft 3) and Extra Tall (6ft 4 and above). If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Check the upper thigh maximum as well: it is a hard limit, not a guide.

What size compression boots do I need?

Match your standing height to the band below. Sleeve length is the boot's internal length from foot to the top of the thigh; the upper thigh figure is the maximum circumference each size closes around.

Size Height Sleeve length Upper thigh, max
Short 5ft to 5ft 7 (152 to 170cm) 91cm 65cm
RegularStandard fit 5ft 8 to 6ft (173 to 183cm) 110cm 70cm
Tall 6ft 1 to 6ft 3 (185 to 191cm) 125cm 76cm
Extra Tall 6ft 4 and above (193cm and over) 135cm 76cm

Between two sizes? Take the larger one. Not sure? Email hello@my-vyro.com with your height and we will confirm your size before you order.

Sizing in centimetres

If you think in metric: 152 to 170cm is a Short, 173 to 183cm is a Regular, 185 to 191cm is a Tall, and 193cm or over is an Extra Tall. So 164cm takes a Short, 175cm takes a Regular and 188cm takes a Tall. If your height lands between two bands (171 to 172cm, or 184cm, or 192cm), that counts as between sizes: take the larger.

How to measure

  • Standing height, no shoes. This picks your band in the table above and is the only measurement most people need.
  • Upper thigh circumference. Measure around the widest point of your upper thigh and check it against the maximum for your size. This is a hard limit, not a guide: if you exceed it, go up a size regardless of height.
  • Between bands? Take the larger size. A slightly longer sleeve still compresses the full leg; a short one leaves the top of the thigh out of the boot.

What happens if the size is wrong?

  • Too short: the top of the thigh sits outside the boot and gets no compression, so you lose the most muscular part of the leg.
  • Too long: chambers bunch at the ankle and knee, creating uneven pressure and pinch points instead of a smooth wave.
  • Guessed by shoe size: foot size does not track leg length, so it is an unreliable basis for a boot that runs to the thigh.

How should clinics and teams choose sizes?

Multi-user sites should stock a spread rather than one size, because a squad or caseload spans a wide height range. A practical mix is a couple of Regular, one or two Tall, and at least one Short for youth or shorter athletes. A poor fit wastes the session for that user, so sizing across a range matters more than buying extra units of one size.

For gyms, academies and clinics ordering multiple pairs, the MyVYRO partner programme can help you spec a size mix that matches your typical users.

Frequently asked questions

What size compression boots do I need for my height?

Short fits 5ft to 5ft 7 (152 to 170cm), Regular fits 5ft 8 to 6ft (173 to 183cm), Tall fits 6ft 1 to 6ft 3 (185 to 191cm) and Extra Tall fits 6ft 4 and above (193cm and over). Between two sizes, take the larger one.

How are compression boots sized?

By leg length, best estimated from standing height. The boot must run from foot to the top of the thigh so the whole leg is compressed. The chambers inflate to fit a range of leg widths, so the one circumference check is the upper thigh maximum, which is a hard limit.

What if I am between two sizes?

Take the larger size. A longer sleeve still compresses the full leg; a short one leaves the top of the thigh uncovered. If you are unsure, email hello@my-vyro.com with your height and we will confirm your size before you order.

Should I size by shoe size or weight?

No. Neither shoe size nor weight tracks leg length reliably. Use standing height, and check the upper thigh maximum if you carry a lot of muscle in the legs.

Can one pair of boots fit different people?

Within a similar height range, yes, because the chambers adjust to leg width. Across a wide height spread, no. Clinics and teams should stock several sizes so every user gets full-leg coverage.

What if the size I ordered does not fit?

Every Pulse PRO comes with 60 days to try it. If the fit is not right, we collect it, refund it and cover the return postage.
